Philippians 4:6-7 says:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

This scripture beautifully aligns with fasting, as it encourages us to approach God with prayer, gratitude, and trust, laying down our anxieties and relying on His peace. During a fast, we often let go of physical comforts to draw closer to God, making this verse a reminder to focus on Him rather than worry about the sacrifices we’re making.

It also highlights the peace and clarity that fasting can bring when done with faith and thanksgiving. By presenting our needs to God during the fast, we open ourselves to His guidance and protection over our hearts and minds. Ending the fast with this scripture reminds us that the spiritual nourishment we gained is far greater than the physical comforts we set aside.

We chose Philippians 4:6-7 to reflect on how God’s peace carried us through the fast and continues to guard and guide us as we move forward.
